The present chapel was erected in 1650 and consists of a rectangular building roofed over by a barrel vault and supported by ribbed arches. The façade is more elaborate than most chapels of the same époque. The main entrance door is framed by a sculpted cornice and is overlooked by a large window that is similarly decorated and flanked by low square windows. The familiar marble tablet bearing the inscription Non gode l’immunita ecclesiastica is present on the façade. The frontispiece includes an aedicule surmounted by a cross.

The sculpted altar was commissioned in 1912 and is overlooked by the titular painting of St Nicholas set within a delicately sculpted stone frame. Two oval stone frames on either side of the altar overlook two doors that lead into a sacristy. A via crucis was erected in 1885 following appropriate application to the ecclesiastical authorities.
